Standing at an altitude of 5896 m Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing (without series of other mountains around it like Himalayas of Mount Everest) mountain in the World.
Mount Meru is a dormant stratovolcano located 70 Kilometres west of Mt. Kilimanjaro. At a height of 4,562 m, it is visible from Mt. Kilimanjaro on a clear day, and is the fifth-highest mountain in Africa.
Ol Doinyo Lengai, "Mountain of God" in the Maasai language, is an active volcano located in the Gregory Rift, south of Lake Natron within the Arusha Region. The summit of this strato-volcano is 2962 m.
